Training For The War

"Barger 1943" (Position in front of C-47 and flight jacket seems to be in line with his initial rank of W1 - Flight Officer )

Could this be the proper stance for firing a truck mounted machine gun?  Gene R De Foil (left) and Richard "Dick" Smith seem to think so.

Harvey M. Grotte, Robert G. Barber and MSgt Lindale Keating (l-r). Photo probably taken at Camp Mackall.  This trio somehow look less than military with rumpled and mismatched fatigues.  Also, note that Barber has his thumbs hooked into his belt loops in order to keep his pants from falling off.

(l-r - Lt. John Jampetero, 1st Bn Supply Officer, and the one on the right is Lt. Joe Shankey, 3d Bn Supply Officer)
