JOSEPH  L. FAVELA ALBUM (4)

[Warning - this is a large file)
Although the masthead is slightly cut off, this article appears to be from the San Gabriel Valley Daily Tribune Inter-city Express (West Covina, Calif.) which serves the La Puente area where Favela lived at the time.

Published on he 20th anniversary of D-Day, it features a photo of Joe Favela and a narrative of his experiences that day.

Although he mentioned some humorous anecdotes, the stark fear of facing the enemy (and the fear the enemy displayed in turn) were quite real.

Also mentioned, and the first time we have heard of itr, is that the Stars and Stripes published news of the invasion a day erly due to the weather-delayed mission launch.
