POSSIBLE C-47 WRECKAGE

These pieces of aircraft wreckage were recovered at Utah beach in December 2010.  They are believed to be parts of a C-47 paratroop plane that was recorded lost offshore on  D-Day 44

Count The Rivets
this well preserved piece is thought to be part of the outer skin and is still attached to its curved former.

 

Little Left
of whatever part this may have been


Load Adjuster
is still easily read on this device

Latch?
a bar on a pivot

Rivet?
the rounded head seems torn from the hole

Shredded Skin
attests to the crash impact forces

Rubber Bushings
are still in place

Brace
with engineered holes to lighten the weight

Bits and Pieces
include various buckles and a toothbrush
