Light Machine Gun Platoon
of HQ 1st is one of the very few photos of 508th men while training in
Florida. This photo, unfortunately, has numbers penned in for most
of the men pictured but no legend appears to detail their names. Jim
Wynne recalls that the photo was given to him by Larry Fitzpatrick but is
unsure of the men's names. |

distinction was bestowed on Jim after he completed the requisite five
jumps "from a plane in flight" on Feb 26, 1943. |
