One week before these commemoration. The Ardenne C47 club got another veteran from the Battle of the Bulge in the person of Joseph Morettini . He fought with company E 508th PIR of the prestigious 82nd Airborne Division .

A trip in the region was set up in particular at Salm Chateau . There the hale and hearty veteran witnessed more than 70 years ago the explosion of one of the bridges .

An intimate ceremony at the monument of Rencheux was organized and as been the case for quite a few veterans who have returned to the Salmchateau area, Mr. Joseph Morettini was made an honorary citizen of the city . For this return this veteran was accompanied by his son Tony (at right) a veteran from another war, that of Vietnam.
