man on left has Good Conduct ribbon and marksman badges so has been in service longer but neither has jump wings yet

"one of my best pals", according to Francisco Garza, man is believed to be either Pvt Clifton D. Purdy (Co C) or Pvt Harry D. Purdy (Co H)

initially thought to be from Co A has been identified as from Co D, 505th.  How or why Rex Combs had the photo is unknown.
