NORMANDY - UTAH BEACH

Sherman Tank
also sits in silence but bears up well despite the years and salt air

Side View
shows that this tank, while massive, is relatively short, especially when compared to the German Tiger Tank

Tank Specs
list interesting facts about the Sherman M4-41-E8 tank including that it took a crew of five to man it

Silent Cannon
once barked in anger on these shores

See You Later Gator
This LVT (or 'Landing Vehicle, Tank) is a tracked landing craft and was used as a personnel carrier.  The high angle of the front section of the track made it ideally suited for climbing onto beaches and dune lines. The armored front ramp lent protection for the LVT's occupants until it was dropped for exiting

Gator School Grads
There were quite a few of these LVT vehicles and plenty of trained drivers too!

Commercialism
fares well as this hotel borrows heavily on the area that it serves.  The building may have been in place even prior to d-Day
