1st MINI-REUNION - 2005 |  On October 19, 2005 a number of 508th veterans and their families as well as various Friends of the 508th, began checking in at the Holiday Inn, Orange Park, Florida, site of the first anniversary reunion since the retirement of the 508th Association in October 2004.
Hosted by HQ 1st and C Company, it drew approximately 50 people (including one person from Nottingham, England) who would participate in a memorial service at Camp Blanding on the following day.
Attendees also happily gathered in the "CP" Hospitality Suite to recount old tales and just enjoy the camaraderie of the veterans and other attendees.
On Friday, a business meeting was held to begin the proves of launching a new association for the families and friends of the regiment's veterans.
Lastly, many warm goodbyes were said as everyone drove or flew out of town. | |
