At the Saltby Air Base in the Nottingham /
Leicester area of England, where the men of the 2nd Battalion of the 508th
were waiting to make their first combat jump, each trooper was given some
so-called invasion money to use in event of an emergency during the initial
phase of the operation.
Above are images of a ten Franc note given to Eugene (Andy)
Bartlett of Headquarters Company, which he circulated amongst his buddies to
get their names and addresses recorded for posterity.
