Under intense enemy
mortar and artillery fire, T/4 Adelman continued to
keep communications intact from platoon to Co. to Bn
positions. |
g. |
At the time the Co.
was in a static position, and had been alerted by
S-2 reports that the Germans might attack that
night. Late in the evening the enemy began to shell
the Co. positions with large and small caliber
artillery and mortar fire. |
h. |
As it was imperative
that lines of communication be maintained, Sgt
Adelman worked all night long under artillery and
mortar fire repairing and laying new lines. Though
dazed by the concussion of near shell bursts and
tired to the point of exhaustion, T/4 Adelman kept
lines of communication intact between units at al
times. |
