PFC VINCE J. FIORINO
BRONZE STAR MEDAL OLC

[Fort Lauderdale News, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Friday, 6/11/1965. Page 6]

DEED FINALLY CATCHES UP

Sometimes it takes time for our past deeds --- good or bad --- to catch up with us.

Such was the case with Vince Fiorino, former publicity director for the Hollywood [FL] Chamber of Commerce and widely known public relations man in southeast Florida.
He got a medal lat week, an oak leaf cluster for his bronze star --- from World War II when he was in the 508th Parachute Infantry. Regiment in Germany.
The citation, signed  May 13, 1965 gave no reason for the 20-year  delay. It merely stated that  the cluster was awarded "for meritorious achievement in ground operations against the enemy during the Rhineland Campaign."
Surely it couldn't have taken the federal government that log to find Fiorino --- if a publicity man can't make himself and his whereabouts known, he's in the wrong business.
"Oh, yes, the note from Vince disclosed that he now is regional sales manager for WEAT-TV, Channel 12 in West Palm Beach.
