IV — AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE:

      Under the provisions of AR 600-45, as amended, and pursuant to authority contained in letter 200.6 (AG) Headquarters XVIII Corps Airborne, dated 31 August 1944, the following named individuals are awarded the Bronze Star Medal:

      ARTHUR SANCHEZ, 19176299, Private First Class, 508th Parachute Infantry. For meritorious service in connection with military operations against the enemy for the period 6 June 1944 to 14 November 1944 during the NORMANDY and HOLLAND Operations. Private First Class SANCHEZ, Scout, Company "F", participated in two campaigns with this regiment and his performance in combat was superlative. He has consistently demonstrated exemplary devotion to duty and exceptional courage while under fire. As a scout, he was always far to the front in the attack. His aggressiveness and alertness under extreme combat conditions has earned him the admiration of all his associates. Entered military service from NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA.
