A Bronze Star Medal will be awarded by Col. Hodnette to Mrs. Della Sides, Carbon Hill, in recognition of the heroic conduct of her son, Sergt.Curtis B. Sides, 82 Airborne Infantry.  Sergt. Sides, squad leader, Company "H", 508th Parachute Infantry, "gave his life to assure the displacement of his squad to more tenable positions on the night of Sept. 20, 1944."
