			| IV — AWARD OF THE 
			BRONZE STAR MEDAL FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE: 
			      Under the 
			provisions of AR 600-45, as amended, and pursuant to authority contained 
			in letter 200.6 (AG) Headquarters XVIII Corps Airborne, dated 31 August 
			1944, the following named individuals are awarded the Bronze Star Medal:       GORDON 
			W. WAHTO, 19145952, Sergeant, 508th Parachute Infantry. For meritorious 
			service in connection with, military operations against the enemy for 
			the period 6 June 1944 to 20 February 1945 in FRANCE, HOLLAND and BELGIUM. 
			During this time he demonstrated a high degree of leadership, courage 
			and ingenuity. During both the NORMANDY and HOLLAND Campaigns, he has 
			assumed the duties of an officer, when his platoon leaders became casualties, 
			and performed with such skill and efficiency that the platoons he led 
			were outstanding in their performance. Sergeant WAHTO’s inspiring courage 
			and. ability imbued the men of his platoon with a confidence and esprit 
			de corps which marks his service as being outstanding. Entered military
