In accordance with AR
600-8-22 (Military Awards), the Army Superior Unit Award (ASUA) was
established by the Secretary of the Army to recognize outstanding
meritorious performance of a unit during peacetime of a difficult and
challenging mission under extraordinary circumstances. Circumstances may
be deemed to be extraordinary when they do not represent the typical
day-to-day circumstances under which the unit normally performs, or may
reasonably be expected to perform during its peacetime mission.
Criteria: The Superior Unit Award is a
decoration of the United States Army which is awarded in peacetime to
any unit of the Army which displays outstanding meritorious performance
of a difficult and challenging mission carried out under extraordinary
circumstances. Award:
