PVT CAMPBELL & PFC CHILDS HONORED

Betty Hollingsworth and John Cycz hold two of the signs made to honor Deerfield veterans who died in battle at the Town Offices in Deerfield.

The town of Deerfield, Massachusetts recently honored 18 local servicemen who gave their lives during various conflicts since the 20th century.

Two of the18 were members of the 508th PIR.  Pfc James A Childs (Co C) was killed in action on 18 September 1944 in Holland. 

Pvt James S. Campbell (Co D) gave his life on 2 January 1945 in Belgium.
