This monument stands in Goronne, near the Their-du-Mont ridge
where the 508th battled for many days and where numerous casualties were
suffered before the area was taken,.
The stone itself was harvested from the ridge area where the 508th fought.
The two tables placed on the monument, and their inscriptions, are shown at
right. |
