This memorial portraying a figure "standing in the door", was dedicated
in August 2007. The memorial is dedicated to all parachutists and
the marble base carries the insignias for the 82nd and 101st airborne
divisions, amongst others.
It is believed that Omaha, Nebraska was chosen as the site due to
the similarity of the city's name with the Omaha Beach designation in
the D-Day invasion of Normandy.
