Sgt Ronald H. Armour,
paratrooper, wins honors

Sgt Ronald H. Armour, one of the comparatively small number of paratroopers who dropped down on the Cherbourg peninsula six hours ahead of the main invasions forces June 5, was recently awarded the purple heart, president's citation and a combat infantry medal, according to a letter received by his wife at 4600 No. 14th.
Sergeant Armour, formerly of New Jersey, entered the service as a member of the 508th parachute infantry nearly two and a half years ago.  Wounded in action June 8, he was taken off the French battlefield and returned to duty with his regiment a few weeks later.
