PVT ERRIE T. BROWN

As data filtered back to the individual states via War Department monthly reports, many kept records regarding wounds, deaths and military awards affecting citizens of their state.  It is somewhat cryptic in that the specific date and location was not made available by the War Department.

Alabama files produced this record of Errie T. Brown of Birmingham having been wounded in action.  Through cross-relationship with Morning Reports we know that this occurred in Holland on the day of the invasion, 17 September 1944.  Brown, like a number of recuperating casualties, was returned to his line unit and pressed back into action on 18 December 1944 when the mobilization for the Battle of The Bulge occurred.
