CPL FRANK HADDY

PARATROOPER IS WOUNDED

--- Pvt Frank Haddy, paratrooper in France, was wounded in action there, according to word received by his parents, Mr.. and Mrs., Mike Haddy, 525 Carolina S.E. Pvt Haddy has been overseas since last December.
The Haddys have 3 other sons in the service, Staff Sgt George Haddy, also with the paratroopers in France.  He had written that most of the weapons they were using were those captured from the Germans there.  He also said that his parents were not to worry because the "Big Pockets" were getting everything.  Big Pockets is what the Germans have nicknamed the allied paratroopers.  Thomas Haddy is electrician's mate 2/c in the southwest Pacific. A 4th son, James, is naval aviation cadet in the navy V-12 program at the University of Dubuque/

[Note: although the article cites "3 other sons in the service", only George and James are named but Thomas is not.  The 4th son James is attending university.]
