The
National Jewish Welfare Board recorded the fact that Horton Newmark
had been wounded.
The War Department had released a list of wounded and KIA on 1 August 1944
but it did not state where or when the casualties occurred.
However the 508th's HQ HQ Company Morning Report for 23 May 1945 reported that
Horton had been WIA on 7 June 44 in France.
