SSGT VERNELL B. SHEPLER


Mrs. Matilda Esveldt has received word from the war department that her son, SSgt. Vernell B. Shepler, was wounded in action in Belgium on December 23. Be has seen action in North Africa, Sicily and in France.

WOUNDED LIST STILL GROWING
   WASHINGTON, March 12. (AP) --- Twenty-one Washington men were included today by the war department in a list of soldiers wounded in action in the European area.
   The Washington men Included:
 Pvt. Leroy O. Bowman; Mrs. Neoma Bowman, wife, route 1, Kennewick.
Pfc. Harry Charley: Mrs. Louise Charley, mother, Malott.
Pvt. William Miller; Alton IL Miller, father. Ellensburg.
First Lt. William V. Cranston: Mrs. Della B. Cranston, wile, care of A. Boyd, Yakima.
SSgt. Vernell B. Shepler: Mrs. Erma G. Shepler, wife, Chewelah
SSgt. Morris H. Tucker; Roy J. Tucker, father, route 2, Clarkston.
Pvt. Ernest R. Walters: Ray O. Walters, father. Wenatchee.
