GOOD NEWS STORIES OF THE WEEK:

- Panther of the Week: SGT Marshall Smith (HHC/1-508 PIR’s Motorpool NCOIC) presented each Gold Star Family attending All American Week with a handmade, personalized wooden American Flag during All American Week. SGT Smith’s absolute dedication to the Families of our fallen comrades and his selfless charity are a terrific representation of HHC, 1Fury, and Panther Brigade.

THIS WEEK:

LTC Reese, CSM Lawrence, SFC(P) Creel, and SGT Hendricks safely arrived to France where they will soon participate in the Normandy 72nd anniversary of D-Day. The staff continued MDMP and preparations for the upcoming BCT FTX, as well as finalizing our UDLs for JRTC. A/1-508, B/1-508, and C/1-508 focused on team and squad level training this week in an effort to solidify TTPs and SOPs to enhance individual capabilities and unit understanding for future training events. A Co conducted Battle Drill 6, urban movement, SOSRA and CASEVAC over three days at Live Fire Village while using blank and UTM rounds, while C Co conducted Team Land Navigation out at NTA 1. D/1-508, HHC/1-508, and J/1-508 focused on CSDP and maintenance in preparation for the BCT FTX and JRTC. 1-508 PIR will conclude the week with Pay Day Activities which will consist of company-led PT, in-ranks inspections, barracks inspections, and a battalion awards ceremony. Lastly, 125 Paratroopers will conduct an airborne assault on Holland DZ as part of the ACP rehearsal for the FTX. NEXT WEEK Next week’s focus will be MDMP for the BCT FTX. We are fully prepared to conduct SGT Aguilar’s memorial service on Wednesday at 1500 in the Division Chapel. 1-508 PIR will also conduct a CLS course as part of our medical training progression to get 100% of the battalion

NEXT WEEK:

Next week’s focus will be MDMP for the BCT FTX. We are fully prepared to conduct SGT Aguilar’s memorial service on Wednesday at 1500 in the Division Chapel. 1-508 PIR will also conduct a CLS course as part of our medical training progression to get 100% of the battalion CLS-certified prior to JRTC. Lastly, we will have our last two DONSAs for NTC on Thursday and Friday.

- AIRBORNE OPERATIONS:

On Saturday, 1-508 PIR will exit 125 Paratroopers and two door bundles containing 81mm mortar tubes and a Raven during the ACP rehearsal for the FTX.

- LEADER DEVELOPMENT:

This week, two company commanders and three 1SGs attended the 18th Airborne Corps pre-command course. Cadets Max Kreig and Steven Johnson arrived for CTLT and stepped in to lead our Scout platoon and a C Co platoon. Both cadets participated in the 1-508 Officer Integration program, which included an in-brief and PT with the BN S3, attending battalion daily battle rhythm events, shadowing all primary staff officers, observing an NCO promotion board, and attending two LPDs. On Saturday, we will have both cadets on Holland DZ for the airborne operation and follow-on ACP rehearsal. 1-508 PIR has two Paratroopers in the Jumpmaster Course, seven Paratroopers in Pre-Ranger, five Paratroopers in Ranger School, one Paratrooper in Sniper School, and one Paratrooper in RSLC.

- BUILD READY AND RESILIENT PARATROOPERS AND FAMILIES:

1-508 PIR conducted SRP at the SRC site this week, as well as 350-1 training on EO, SHARP, and MRT. C Co conducted an FRG event to introduce new leaders and their families to the company.
