LOUIS R. APICELLO

Citrus

   LOUIS R. APICELLO, 67, of Citrus Springs died Wednesday. He moved to Citrus Springs eight years ago from his native Yonkers, N.Y.
   He is survived by his wife, Kathleen E.; two sons, Robert L. of Kingston, N.Y., and Richard L. of Citrus Springs; two daughters, Phyllis A. Frederico of Ardsley, N.Y., and Patricia A. Capolino of Yonkers; a brother, Phillip of Citrus Springs; two sisters, Carmella Slaughter and Rose Marie Goss, both of Missouri; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
   Fero Funeral Home, Beverly Hills, is in charge of arrangements.

Louis enlisted at Camp Upton, Yaphank, NY; on 12 March 1942 was inducted into the Army on 12 May 1942.

Pfc Apicello was transferred to Company C, 508th PIR on 28 October 1943.

On 16 September 1944 he was promoted to Sgt. 

Sgt Apicello was evacuated as a non-battle casualty in Belgium on 12 January 1945.  Still hospitalized, he ws transferred to the hospital's Detachment of Patients.

Louis was not totally knocked out of action, however, as he married Kathleen Jarvis in Nottingham, England in a ceremony only recorded as occurring during Registration Quarter: Jul-Aug-Sep, 1945.
