Miss Wofford To Become Bride

   CORNELIA The engagement of Miss Doris Louise Wofford to Thomas Armenaki, of New York City, is announced today by the bride-elects parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Wofford. The marriage takes place at an early date. The bride- elect was graduated from the North Georgia College, and after her graduation from the Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1945, she joined the Army Nurse Corps. . She is now stationed at Lawson General Hospital. Mr. Armenaki is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Armenaki, of New York. He attended New York City College and served for three years, with the 82d Airborne Division, U. S. Army, in the Euro pean Theater. He is now connected with the Waldorf-Astoria in New York.

T.T. Armenaki

    T. Thomas Armenaki, 53, died Sunday at his residence, 27 Rose Hill Drive.  He was director of food service at Austin Peay State University.
   Memorial services will be held St 5 p.m. today at Tarpley's Chapel with Father William Morgan officiating.
   Following the services the body will be shipped to Cornelia, Ga. for funeral services and burial in the Habershan Memorial Garden.
   Born in New York July 1, 1917, Mr. Armenaki had been a resident of Montgomery County since July, 1970. He was the son of Julietta Armenaki, who survives, and the late James Armenaki.
   Mr. Armenaki was married June 4, 1946 to Doris Wofford Armenaki, who survives.
   Mr., Armenaki was a member of the Emmaculate Conception ; Catholic Church, the Swan Lake Country Club and the Optomist [sic] International. He was a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and a member of the 82nd Airborne Division in ;World War II.
   Survivors in addition to his mother and widow include, one -brother, Clarence. Armenaki, -Mclean, Va. and one sister, Mrs. Marie Zicha, Vienna, Va.

Thomas registered for the draft in New York City, Bronx, NY.

On 10 August 1944, Pfc Armenaki was transferred from the 11th Replacement Depot to Company I, 508th PIR.

He was promoted to Cpl on 22 October 1944.

Cpl Armenaki was evacuated as a non-battle casualty on 20 December 1944 and returned to duty on 17 January 1945.

Listed as Pfc Armenaki (line 24), he arrived in  New York City, NY from Le Havre, France aboard the SS Argentina.

On 1 May 1946 he married Doris L Wofford, who had been a 2nd Lt in the US Army nursing corps.
