William enlisted in the Army on 19 May 1942 was a member
of Company H, 508th PIR.
Pfc Azzoto's military decorations included the Combat
Infantryman badge for his participation in action during Normandy,
France Campaign, 6 June 1944 to 9 July 1944 and the Bronze Service
Arrowhead device also awarded for the Normandy assault. |
