JACK MAILING BAILEY
Grave marker of Jack Mailing Bailey, Company A, 508th veteran, buried alongside his wife Vivian in Plot Number B7C, Grave Number  213 of the Carlton Cemetery, Cavendish Road, Nottingham, England.

Jack met Vivian while the 508th was encamped in Nottingham in 1944.  They were married after the war and set up home in Glebe Road, Carlton, Nottingham.

Jack was very popular with the local people of Nottingham, being called Gentleman Jack.

Initially, Jack worked at a sugar beet factory In Colwick, Nottingham.  During the late 1950's Jack and Vivian became the Licensee of the pub called The White Horse on Llkeston Road, Nottingham, a pub that he had frequented during his time during the war in Nottingham.

After leaving the pub trade, Jack worked in construction, clearing the buildings on Derby Road in the early 1970's to make way for the Queens Medical Center which stands there today.
