BRUCE E. BAKER

Grave marker of Bruce E. Baker, Company A, 508th veteran, buried in Loving Cemetery, Loving (Young County), Texas.

He was the of son of William Hugh Baker - Ida Belle True and attended Loving High school.

An Army Paratrooper, World War II, he entered the war in 1942 training at Camp Blanding, Florida, Ft Benning, Georgia and Camp Mackall, North Carolina.

Bruce Baker served in Normandy and was a prisoner of war for nine months. He was liberated from Stalag 12D Waldbreitbach Rheinland, Prussia 50-07 and then discharged in 1945.

Bruce was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Citation, Combat Infantry Badge, ETO Ribbons, and three Bronze Service Stars.
