JAMES H. BARBER

Grave marker for James H. Barber in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cochran (Bleckley county), Georgia.

James enlisted in the Army at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, GA on 18 June 1942 and volunteered for parachutist duty.

On 16 October 1942 Pvt Barber was a member of the cadre team that was transferred from the 507th PIR and was assigned to Hq 1st, 508th PIR.

Between 27 April and 15 May 1944 T/4 Barber was in the 30th General Hospital, Mansfield, England.  When he returned to duty he was transferred to Service Company and on 18 July T/4 barber was sent back to Hq 1st.  At that point his name disappeared from 508th records.
