JOHN H. BARTHOLDI

BARTHOLDI, JOHN H. "JACK" Age 91, was born in Duluth, Minnesota and passed away on February 22, 2013 after a valiant struggle with a long illness.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved son, Lane Bartholdi. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Norma. Jack served proudly with the US Army Airborne, in the European Theater from 1942-1945, and was awarded the Bronze Star.

Following the War and his university graduation, Jack and Norma moved to Albuquerque in 1950. He was a teacher at MacArthur Elementary, and Albuquerque High School for many years, before he went on to become one of the first computer technology instructors at TVI (now CNM). Jack had an encyclopedic knowledge of main frame systems, wrote, and provided instruction for generations of students beginning in the 1970's and moving into the digital age. During his hiatuses, Jack served as a consultant to the "labs" as well as to many community organizations. Jack served in every leadership position within the Albuquerque Area of Educational Retirees group, and enjoyed his time with the Albuquerque Moon Watch Team. Jack was an Elder and a Deacon at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.

Jack and Norma loved to travel, and were able to visit nearly all of Western Europe, with a foray into Russia, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Jack was universally acknowledged to be a kind and gentle man, who cherished his wife. He had a wry sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his many friends
