| Grave marker for James N. Batton in the Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens, Osceola (St. Joseph county), Indiana. [note the
Parachutist Badge emblem). James enlisted in the
Army at Montgomery, AL on 15 March 1941. Although his initial duty
assignments are not known by May 1943 he had been transferred into Co I,
508th PIR.
In 13 May 1943 Pvt Batton was transferred from
Company I to Company B. However on 2 September 1943 he left the
508th when he was transferred to Replacement Station 990. |
