BILLIE G. BEAVER

Grave marker for Billie G. Beaver, in Block 70 Lot 16 Grave 7 of the Riverview Memorial Gardens, Worland (Washakie County), Wyoming.

Mr. Beaver was a member of Co A during WW-II.  His decorations included the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster.  He was slightly wounded in action as of June 16, 1944 in France and then seriously wounded on September 17, 1944 in Holland.  He was transferred to an unknown hospital for treatment.


Home From The War

Billie Beaver is shown (see arrow) as a recuperating patient on the Queen Mary manifest when it docked in New York City harbor on Jan 13, 1945.  The ship had set sail earlier from Greenock on the west coast of  Scotland.

Billie's wound was listed as "WIA GSW Pen W right chest, post operative", i.e., a penetrating gun shot wound to the right chest which had required surgery.
