WALTER C. BECKWITH

Grave marker for Walter C. Beckwith in Saint Anthony's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Farnham (Erie county), Pennsylvania.

Walter enlisted in the Army at Pittsburgh, PA on 26 July 1944 but it was not until 5 April 1945 that he began foreign service.

Pfc Beckwith was assigned to Hq 2nd, 508th PIR in Frankfurt, Germany until his return to the U.S. in 1946.  He was discharged at Fort Dix, NJ on 15 August 1946.

On 13 May 1950, Walter took advantage of the bonus offered to WWII era veterans and received a total of $245 based on his domestic and foreign service periods.
