JOHN D. BELCHER

 

Grave markers for John D. Belcher in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clewiston (Hendry county), Florida.

John enlisted in the Army at Camp Blanding, FL on 23 February 1943.

Pfc Belcher served with Headquarters Company, 3td Battalion, 508th PIR and was awarded the Bronze service Arrowhead for the Southern France Campaign and Airborne Operations.

It can be noted that both John and his wife died at an early age in 1983 but the deaths were separated by a number of months (she on July 21st, age 55 and he on October 4th, age 59).  Causes are unknown.
