Robert J. Bennett in Shiloh Park Cemetery, Shiloh (Montgomery county),
Ohio. Robert enlisted in the Army at Altoona, PA
on 28 August 1942 and was assigned to HQ 1st, 508tth PIR.
Cpl Bennett was wounded in action on 24 December 1944
in Belgium but was able to return ro duty on 10 January 1945.
Sgt Bennett's military decorations include the Purple
Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Bronze Service Arrowhead
device, both awarded for action during the Normandy, France
