Grave markers for Vernon J. Bille in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville (Waupaca), WI.

Vernon enlisted in the Army at Milwaukee, WI on 12 March 1942 and volunteered for parachutist duty.

He was assigned to the 507th PIR and after completion of jump school he was amongst those transferred on 16 October 1942 as cadre to the 508th PIR.

SSgt Bille served with Company B and at some time was transferred to the 101st Airborne where he then served with Company :I", 187th PIR.
