GARLAND B. BLAUVELT

Grave marker for Garland B. Blauvelt in the Center Cemetery, Lometa (Lampasas), Texas.

Pvt Blauvelt joined the 508th on 2 March 1944 while the regiment was in its waning days at Camp Cromore, Northern Ireland. He was assigned to Company B.

Pvt Blauvelt participated in the jump into Normandy on D-Day, 6 June 1944.

Garland was in an automobile crash on 17 Jan 1954 which occurred as the result of brake failure.  He died the following day of a cerebral hemorrhage.
