at Camp Dodge, Herrold, IA on 26 October 1943.
Pvt Bloomdahl completed
basic training and jump school before being sent overseas. He
transferred from the 11th Replacement Depot to Company G, 508th PIR on
10 August 1944.
Pvt Bloomdahl made the
jump into Nijmegen, Holland on 17 September 1944 and was taken prisoner
3 days later. He was liberated from Stalag 7A after the war ended. |
