WILLIAM F. BLUM
William F. Blum of Mt. Holly [NJ] age 73, died September 18,1996.

Mr. Blum was born in Wheeling, WV and proudly served his country for 23 years in the U.S. Army, with 19 years in the Airbourne Division in the 508th ARCT and various units in the 11th, 17th, 82nd and 101st Airbourne Division. He was a master parachutist with over 100 jumps from planes in flight and earned the German Jump School Wings and the Army Commendation Medal.

After retiring as a 1st Sgt. in the U.S. Army Mr. Blum went on to serve as a NJ State Correction Officer at Bordentown and Mid-State Correctional facilities where he retired with 20 years of service. He was also a member of the 82nd Airbourne Association, 101st Airbourne Association, 75th Division Veterans Association, the Airbourne Century

Club and the N.J. PBA [Policemen's Benevolent Association]. 

Mr. Blum was the loving husband of Rosemary (nee Gillespie) and dear father of William F. Blum of Kulpsville, PA and James J. Blum of Lumberton, NJ. He was preceded in death by his brother John Blum Jr. and his sister Pearl Zymbroy. He is also survived by his brother Harry Blum of Lewis- burg, Tenn. and Bob Blum of Bordentown, NJ, a granddaughter Catherine A. Blum of Forrest Hills, NY, three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Service of Christian Burial on Wednesday, 10am at LEE/GIVNISH of Mt. Holly, 317 High St. Interment Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. Viewing will be Tuesday evening, 7-9 and Wednesday morning 9-10am at the funeral home.
