PHILIP R. BODOH

Philip enlisted in the army on 10 November 1943 and volunteered for parachutist duty.

Pvt Bodoh was transferred from the 11th Replacement Depot to Hq 3rd, 508 PIR on 10 August 1944.

He was wounded in action in Belgium on 31 January 1945 and evacuated to a field hospital.  He returned to duty on 23 February 1945.

While it is not known what unit he served with prior to his transfer to the 508th, he was awarded a Purple Heart under 508th General Order 9 issued in March 1945 for wounds received on 17 September 1945. He was also awarded a Bronze Service Arrowhead device for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations.

Pfc Bodoh arrived in NY City, NY from Southampton, England aboard the Queen Mary (see on line 15) on 3 January 1946.

He was discharged two week later on 15 January.
