HOMER B. BOHANNON

Grave marker for Homer Basil Bohannon in Douglas Cemetery, Douglas (Marshall county), Alabama.

Homer enlisted in the Army at Ft McClellan, AL on 24 June 1942.  He later volunteered for parachutist duty and was transferred to Company B, 508th PIR on 2 March 1944.

Pvt Bohannon was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and Bronze Service Arrowhead device for action during Normandy, France Campaign, 6 June 1944 to 9 July 1944.

He was discharged on 20 November 1945.
