JOSEPH BONDRA

Joseph Bondra, age 92, beloved husband of the late Jeanne (nee Nosal). Dear father of Jeanne Elaine Bondra and Joseph M. (Cheryl nee Schak). Loving grandfather of Maureen (Nick) Olszko, Daniel, and Susan (Fiance, Eric). Cherished brother to 11.
   Divine Liturgy in St. Mary Magdalene Byzantine Catholic Church, 5390 W. 220th, Cleveland, 44126, on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at 10:00 AM. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
   Interment Sunset Memorial Park. Family will receive friends in the TOMON & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 7327 Pearl Rd., (S. of Bagley), Middleburg Hts., Monday, July 16, 2018, from 4 to 8 PM. Parastas at 7:00 PM.

Joe registered for the draft in Indiana, PA on 5 November 1943.  He was inducted into the Army at Altoona, PA on 26 July 1944.

On 19 October 1945, Pfc Bondra was transferred from the 101st Airborne Division to Company I, 508th PIR

He was discharged at Fort Dix, NJ on 24 June 1946.

 

On 18 January 1950, Joe submitted this application for the Pennsylvania WWII Veterans bonus.  He was credited with 7 months of domestic duty and 12 months of foreign service which entitled him to a $250 bonus,
