Joe Henry Boone, 87, died
Sunday, July 11, 2010. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist
Church, De Leon. Interment: 3 p.m. Wednesday in Olney Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nowlin Anders. Survivors: Three
children; five siblings; and other family.

Joe enlisted in the Army at Abilene, TX on 6 October,
1942 and was assigned to Hq 1st, 508th PIR.
His military decorations include the
Silver Star
and the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for participation in
Normandy. |
