MILTON G. BORLAND, JR.

Grave marker for Milton G., Borland, Jr. and spouse in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, East Trussville (Jefferson county), Alabama.  Although his name appears on the marker, the grave site may not hold any of his remains as his body was donated to University of Alabama - Birmingham.

His wife, Aileen, survived him by 20 years and she married Henry Lanier Ward after he had lost his first wife who died in 1999.  Both Aileen and Henry are buried with their first spouses.

Milton registered for the draft ca. 1942 and  enlisted in the Army at Fort McClellan, AL on 8 January 1943.

Pfc Borland was transferred from the 51st Reinforcement Battalion to Hq Hq, 508th PIR on 16 April 1945.

Pfc Milton arrived in New York, NY from Southampton, England aboard the Queen Mary on 3 January 1946.

Milton's military decorations include the Good Conduct medal awarded on 11 July 1945.
