William D. Boylen

William enlisted in the Army at Cleveland, OH on 18 December 1943.

On 3 October 1944 Pvt Boylen was transferred from HQ 82nd Airborne Division to Service Company, 508th PIR.  Since the regiment was already in combat at that time he was not transferred to a line company for more than two months.

On 8 December 1944 he was transferred to Company D.  Ten days later the regiment was mobilized for the Battle of The Bulge.

Pvt Boylen was transferred to the 101st Airborne Division on 31 May 1945.

His military decorations include the Combat Infantryman badge awarded for action during campaign, 18 Dec 1944 to 20 Feb 1945
