ERMAN G. BRAWNER

Grave marker for Erman G. Brawner in the Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, (Muscogee County), Georgia.

 

Erman enlisted in the Army on 15 August 1940 and as such beat the enactment of the draft.  He registered his discharge with the Selective Service on 16 October 1945 in Columbus, GA.

Mr. Brawner was a member of I Company and participated in the jump into Normandy.

On 11 January 1945 he was evacuated as a non-battle casualty and on 10 April 1945 he was transferred to the hospital's detachment of patients.

However, on 31 May 1945, Pvt Brawner was transferred back to Company I from the 19th Reinforcement Depot

He was discharged on 24 September 1945 and the following November he married Eunice Hazel Smith in Eufaula, AL.
