LIONEL N. BRILLANT

Grave marker for Lionel N. Brillant in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery; Brunswick (Cumberland county), Maine.

Lionel enlisted in the Army at Portland, ME on 10 July 1939.  The 1940 Federal Census lists him as a Private stationed at Fort William Davis Military Reservation, Cristobal, Panama Canal.

Pvt Brillant later volunteered for parachutist duty and on 25 February 1945 Pfc Brillant was transferred from the 509th PIR to Company A, 508trh PIR.

He was listed in the Company A Morning Reports on 14 March 1945 as being admitted to the 241st General Hospital, Camp Sissonne France as a non-battle casualty.  He returned to duty on 10 May 1945.

 Pfc Brillant was discharged on 29 August 1945.
