ANNISTON - Memorial services for Mr.
Joseph B. Broadnax, age 83, of Anniston will be 3 p.m. today at The 1st
United Methodist Church of Anniston with the Rev. Bobby Green and
Woodfin Grove officiating. The family will receive friends one hour
after at the church. Gray Brown Service Mortuary and Crematory is in
charge. Mr. Broadnax died Friday, September 9, 2005 in Anniston.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie
Broadnax of Anniston; a sister Ann Broadnax Roberts and husband, Robert,
of Birmingham; one niece and one nephew. Mr. Broadnax was a native of
Anniston and a 1942 graduate of Anniston High School. He served in the
United States Army during World War II and later attended Auburn
University where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. He was in the
retail drug business in Anniston and Gadsden for many years and was the
former owner of Broadnax and Scarbrough Drug stores. Mr. Broadnax was a
Real estate Broker associated with Harwell Realty Company for 20 years
and retired as Vice President of the company. He served on the Board of
Directors of several businesses and professional associations and the
Alabama Association of Realtors. He was a Past President of the Anniston
Board of Realtors. Mr. Broadnax had been a member of the Anniston Rotary
Club, Country Club and First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family
request memorials be made to the 1st United Methodist Church or Favorite
charity.
