ELGIN — Lester Broederdorf, 69, of Elgin
[Illinois], died Tuesday, April 9,1996 in Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
He was born Oct. 23, 1926 in Algonquin, the son of Albert and Amanda Broederdorf Sr.
He was a resident of the Elgin area most of his life.
He was a US. Army veteran, having served in the 82nd Airborne and 508th Parachute Infantry Association.
He was an employee of Meyer Material Ready Mix before retiring.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dundee, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge No. 799 in Elgin and a member of the VFW Post No. 5915 of Carpentersville.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, a son, David Michael Broederdorf of Honolulu, Hawaii: a brother, Albert (Margaret) Broederdorf Jr. of Elgin; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Broederdorf of Algonquin and Margaret Broederdorf
of Crystal Lake; his father-in-law, Carl (Sylvia) Wesemann of Elgin; a brother- in-law, LeRoy Wesemann of Elgin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers. Alfred. Edward and Harold; and a sister. Margaret Binnie.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Laird Funeral Home in Elgin. Funeral services will be at 1 pm Saturday, April 13, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dundee or to the Arthritis Foundation.
